This Privacy Policy describes how GarTrack handles user data. By using the app, you agree to the practices described below. We collect only the data strictly necessary to provide the app's functionality. We do not collect data for advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes.

1. Data We Collect

GarTrack collects the minimum data required to operate. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

• Your email address, if you register or sign in with email, Apple, or Google — used solely for authentication
• A user identifier (UID) assigned at login — used to associate your data with your account
• Vehicle details, fuel logs, maintenance records, expenses, trip checklists, and reminders — entered by you
• Documents and photos you upload within the app
• Push notification token — used to deliver local and optional remote reminders
• Purchase status — used to verify your subscription and unlock Pro features

We do not collect usage statistics, behavioral data, crash reports, or any data beyond what is listed above.

2. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used exclusively to provide and maintain the app's functionality:

• Authenticating your identity and managing your session
• Storing and syncing your vehicle data across your devices
• Delivering reminders and notifications you have configured
• Verifying your subscription status to enable Pro features

Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, or marketing. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for any commercial purpose.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on our cloud infrastructure. Data in transit is encrypted using industry-standard protocols. We apply appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.

4. Third-Party Services

GarTrack uses the following third-party services, each acting as a data processor on our behalf:

• Google (Firebase) — provides authentication, cloud database, and file storage infrastructure. Data may be stored on Google servers. Google Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — manages in-app purchases and subscription status. No payment information is stored by GarTrack or RevenueCat; all transactions are processed by Apple. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• OpenAI — powers the optional GarTrackAI assistant. Prompts you send are processed by OpenAI's servers. No personal identifiers are included unless you provide them explicitly. GarTrack does not store AI conversations. OpenAI Privacy Policy

No other third-party SDKs or services with access to your personal data are used.

5. Location Access

GarTrack may request access to your location to display nearby electric charging stations. Your location is used only in real time within the app and is never stored or transmitted to our servers.

6. Notifications

GarTrack uses local notifications to remind you of maintenance deadlines, document renewals, and other events you configure. Push notifications may optionally be delivered via our notification infrastructure. You can manage notification permissions at any time in your device settings.

7. In-App Purchases

Pro access is available through in-app purchases processed entirely by Apple via StoreKit. GarTrack does not collect, store, or have access to any payment information. RevenueCat is used solely to verify your subscription status.

8. Data Retention

GarTrack retains your personal data for as long as your account remains active. The following data is stored solely for the purpose of providing the app's functionality and is kept for the entire duration of your registration:

• Account data — email address and user identifier (UID), retained to authenticate your identity and maintain your session
• Vehicle and log data — fuel logs, maintenance records, expenses, trip checklists, and reminders, retained to provide core app functionality across your devices
• Uploaded files — documents and photos (such as insurance certificates, vehicle registration, and receipts), retained to make them accessible to you within the app
• Push notification token — retained to deliver reminders you have configured
• Subscription status — retained to verify and maintain your Pro access

No data is retained beyond what is necessary to operate the service. We do not archive, aggregate, or retain data for any purpose other than providing the app's features directly to you.

When you delete your account, all data associated with your account — including vehicle records, uploaded documents, authentication credentials, and notification tokens — is permanently and automatically deleted from our systems. This action is immediate and irreversible. Local data stored on your device can be removed by uninstalling the app.

9. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the app: go to Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. No residual data is retained after deletion.

10. International Data Transfers

Some of your data may be processed on servers located outside your country, including the United States, through the third-party services listed above. These services comply with applicable data transfer frameworks, including the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, ensuring your data receives an adequate level of protection.

11. Children's Privacy

GarTrack is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and provided personal data, please contact us so we can delete it promptly.

12. GDPR — Legal Basis for Processing

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), GarTrack processes your personal data under the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract — processing is necessary to provide the app and its features
• Legitimate interests — ensuring the security and correct functioning of the service
• Legal obligation — where required by applicable law

We do not rely on consent as a legal basis, as we do not process data for advertising or analytics.

13. Your Rights under GDPR

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your data at any time, including via the in-app Delete Account option
• Right to restriction — you can request that we limit processing of your data
• Right to data portability — you can export your data in a structured format via the in-app export feature
• Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Right to lodge a complaint — you can contact your local data protection authority

14. No Sale of Data

GarTrack does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial or marketing purposes.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify you within the app. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
